Learning, thinking,
and creating.

I'm interested in how humans have developed, where we stand now, and where we might go from here. I try to understand that at two levels, the individual and the collective, and to think about how both could be improved. Learning is where it starts, thinking is how I make sense of it, and creating is where I try to turn it into something useful.

About

Hi, I'm Lennart. Welcome to my corner of the internet.

  • Started writing on Substack
  • Building LifeCore, a productivity app

I've always had a natural curiosity for learning about a wide range of subjects. At first that was mostly in the natural sciences and technology, but over time I became just as interested in the humanities and the social sciences. Across all of those disciplines one thread has emerged: my interest in the evolution, the current state and the possible future of our species. I try to understand that at two levels. At the individual level, I'm interested in how evolution shaped us, how our bodies and brains work today, and how we can live in line with our biology and psychology in the modern world. At the collective level, I'm interested in how humanity has developed as a whole, where we stand now, and where we might be heading.

Learning, though, is only worth much if you do something with it that benefits yourself or others. I also think it matters to look critically at what you learn and to form your own perspective on it. That's why I write about what I've learned: it forces me to think clearly and to work out what I actually think about a subject. And publishing those thoughts online opens them up to criticism, which is a reliable way to find your blind spots and mistakes.

Beyond writing, turning ideas into real-world applications is what I see as the ultimate goal. With every project I try to make it as complete as possible within its own domain.

Writing

Thinking out loud.

I'm interested in the past, present and possible future of our species, and in exploring possible improvements and solutions at both the individual and the collective level. At the individual level, I'm interested in the evolution of humans into who we are now and what we could become. At the collective level, I'm interested in which developments led to our current situation and where we might be heading.

LifeCore

A productivity app I'm building

building

A life OS that brings every component of productivity together in one coherent interface. I'm building it out of necessity: most apps solve only part of the problem, and the ones that do try never quite work the way I want them to.
